This privacy policy explains how Ask-a-peer, LLC ("AAP," "we" and "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information obtained from Peers and from visitors to its websites (each, a "Site" and collectively, the "Sites").
If you are a Peer, you have agreed and are additionally subject to the Terms and Conditions ("Terms and Conditions"), which expressly incorporates this Privacy Policy. If you are not a Peer, by visiting the Sites you consent to the collection and use of your information under the terms of this Privacy Policy.
- Personal Information and Data We Collect
Ask-a-peer collects information that you voluntarily provide to us, including your name, contact details, and professional biography. AAP collects additional information from Peers, for example, their participation in AAP events and interactions with other Peers.
When you visit our Sites, we send one or more cookies (which is a small file containing a string of characters) to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. Cookies make it easier for you to log on to and use the Sites during future visits. You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. (Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.)
AAP servers automatically record information when you visit our Sites. These servers' logs include information such as your web request and Internet Protocol address.
Collectively, the information that AAP collects about you, including personal information, is referred to in this Privacy Policy as "your information."
- Use Of Your Information
We use your information to provide you with opportunities to participate in AAP events, and to keep you up to date with new developments at AAP. We also use and analyze the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business.
We do not sell or share your personal information obtained through our Sites with third parties for their marketing purposes. AAP processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected.
AAP may contact you using personal information you voluntarily provide. In particular, we may contact Peers about incoming events that are relevant to their professional background.
If you begin but do not complete the application process, AAP may contact you based on information you provide us to determine if you wish to complete the process of joining AAP.
- Accessing & Updating Your Information
You are entitled to see the personal information held about you. You may also make changes to your personal information so that it is accurate and kept up to date.
- Security & Information Retention
We employ security measures to protect your information both online and offline from access by unauthorized persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We will retain your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires. AAP may retain your information for its business purposes if you cease to be a member, provided that APP will protect all such information about you in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
- Changes to this Policy
AAP may update this policy. Any changes to this Privacy Policy in the future will be posted to the Sites. Your continued use of these Sites and, if you are a Peer, your continued participation in APP, will indicate your agreement to such changes.
